The Bayelsa Queens, champions of the Nigeria Women’s Football League, have officially initiated their training at Université Félix Houphouët-Boigny in Abidjan.
This preparatory phase is strategically aligned with their participation in the 2025 CAF Women’s Champions League WAFU Zone B qualifiers, which are scheduled to take place from August 23 to September 5 in Yamoussoukro, Côte d’Ivoire.
The team secured their qualification for these prestigious qualifiers as a result of their outstanding performance in the Nigeria Women Women’sall League Premiership-Six-Super Tournament, where they clinched the championship title for the first time since 2022. This accomplishment has reinvigorated the team’s aspirations for success on the continental stage.
In the forthcoming qualifiers, Bayelsa Queens have been allocated to Group B, where they will compete against formidable opponents, including Ghana’s Police Ladies, ASKO of Togo, and Sam Nelly from Benin.
The Prosperity girls’ match is scheduled for August 24 against the Police Ladies, a fixture that is anticipated to be highly competitive as both teams strive for an advantageous position in the tournament.
