‎‎The Bayelsa Queens, champions of the Nigeria Women’s Football League, have officially initiated their training at Université Félix Houphouët-Boigny in Abidjan.
‎ This preparatory phase is strategically aligned with their participation in the 2025 CAF Women’s Champions League WAFU Zone B qualifiers, which are scheduled to take place from August 23 to September 5 in Yamoussoukro, Côte d’Ivoire.
‎The team secured their qualification for these prestigious qualifiers as a result of their outstanding performance in the Nigeria Women Women’sall League Premiership-Six-Super Tournament, where they clinched the championship title for the first time since 2022. This accomplishment has reinvigorated the team’s aspirations for success on the continental stage.
‎In the forthcoming qualifiers, Bayelsa Queens have been allocated to Group B, where they will compete against formidable opponents, including Ghana’s Police Ladies, ASKO of Togo, and Sam Nelly from Benin.
‎The Prosperity girls’ match is scheduled for August 24 against the Police Ladies, a fixture that is anticipated to be highly competitive as both teams strive for an advantageous position in the tournament.
