Bayesla Queens have booked their place in the semifinals of the 2025 WAFU B Women’s Champions League qualifiers after cruising past Benin Republic’s Sam Nelly FC with a commanding 4–1 victory.
‎The Prosperity Girls, who are defending champions of the Nigeria Women’s Football League (NWFL), put up a dominant display in their final group-stage match to underline their credentials as strong contenders for the regional crown.
‎Midfielder Janet Seimeyeha Akekoromowei and striker Shakirat Moshood got the goals rolling for Bayelsa Queens, giving the Prosperity girls an early advantage.
‎Despite their dominance, Sam Nelly managed to pull one back through Kaul Favour, who struck in the 44th minute to restore some hope for the Beninese side.
‎But Bayelsa Queens were relentless after the break. Alaba Adebiyi extended their lead with a composed finish before Akekoromowei completed her brace to put the game beyond reach, sealing a deserved 4–1 win.
‎The result not only propels Bayelsa Queens into the semifinals but also reignites their ambition of reclaiming the WAFU B title they last won in 2022. The Nigerian side is eyeing a return to the CAF Women’s Champions League finals, three years after securing a historic third-place finish in Morocco.
‎With their fluid attacking play, solid midfield control, and clinical finishing, the Prosperity Girls have now established themselves as one of the favorites to lift the 2025 WAFU B Cup and secure qualification to the continent’s premier women’s club competition.
