‎The Super Eagles will lock horns with Rwanda on Saturday, September 6, 2025, in a decisive 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo. Kick-off is set for 5:00 p.m.
‎Nigeria head into the clash needing maximum points after a shaky start to their campaign. Having defeated Rwanda 2–0 in Kigali earlier in the qualifiers, the Eagles know a win in Uyo is vital to revive their qualification hopes.
Currently fourth in Group C with six points, anything short of victory could seriously damage their chances of making a seventh World Cup appearance.
‎Rwanda, on the other hand, sit second with eight points and are chasing a historic first-ever World Cup berth. A positive result in Uyo would boost their chances and put them within touching distance of football’s biggest stage.
‎Nigeria boasts a rich World Cup history, having appeared in six editions since their debut in 1994. The Eagles have reached the Round of 16 three times, with memorable victories over Spain in 1998 and Bosnia in 2014. Despite never advancing beyond the Round of 16, they remain one of Africa’s most consistent and exciting teams on the global scene.
