People don begin dey doubt whether Morocco go fit host Women Africa Cup of Nations wey go start in less than two weeks. Because of that, Confederation of African Football (CAF) don talk say dem go soon clear the matter in the next few days.

CAF communication oga, Luxolo September, write for social media platform X on Wednesday say:
“Discussion don dey go on for weeks now. Big big people dey look the matter with serious attention.”

Morocco suppose host the tournament for the third time back-to-back from March 17 to April 3. But rumor still dey fly say the country fit withdraw, even though CAF president Patrice Motsepe talk on Feb. 13 say the 16th edition go hold for Morocco as planned.

Motsepe talk that time say dem still dey talk with Morocco. He also clear say dem no go change the date because the tournament dey also serve as qualifier for the 2027 Women’s World Cup wey go hold for Brazil.

Before now, South Africa don already show interest say dem fit step in host the competition if need be.

On Wednesday, South Africa Sports Minister, Gayton McKenzie, blast Morocco say dem dey leave everybody for confusion just 13 days before the tournament start.

He talk say:
“If Morocco ready to host WAFCON like dem host brilliant AFCON before, make dem go ahead. But if dem no ready, make dem know say we no be country wey no get stadiums or infrastructure. Nobody go hold us hostage. We no go allow dem treat women competition like this.”

CAF surprise many people when dem expand the tournament to 16 teams for November.

Nigeria na the current champion after dem come from behind beat Morocco 3-2 for final last year.

Morocco still lose the men’s Africa Cup final to Senegal for January.

The country get big plan too as dem go co-host the men’s World Cup for 2030.
