Osimhen, Nwabali, Bameyi Headline Star-Studded 2025 CAF Awards Nominees List

Super Eagles striker and Galatasaray star Victor Osimhen leads Nigeria’s charge at the 2025 CAF Awards, earning a nomination for African Player of the Year after an impressive 35-goal season for club and country.

The former winner is joined on the prestigious list by Mohamed Salah, Achraf Hakimi, Frank Anguissa, and other top African talents.

Goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali is also in the spotlight, contending for Goalkeeper of the Year alongside Morocco’s Yassine Bounou and Cameroon’s André Onana. Young defender Daniel Bameyi represents Nigeria in the Men’s Young Player of the Year category.

Meanwhile,In the women’s division, Super Falcons stars Rasheedat Ajibade and Esther Okoronkwo, both instrumental in Nigeria’s 10th WAFCON title win in July, have been nominated for African Women’s Player of the Year. Chiamaka Nnadozie, recently ranked 4th in the Yashin Trophy, is nominated for Goalkeeper of the Year.

Nigeria’s strong presence continues with nominations for Women’s National Team of the Year and Bayelsa Queens for Club of the Year. CAF will honour standout performers across all categories, with winners announced at the upcoming awards gala.
