WAFCON 24:Super Falcon’s Achieve “Mission X “,Soar to Historic 10th Title

The Super Falcons of Nigeria successfully achieved Mission X by defeating the Atlas Lionesses of Morocco at Rabat Stadium, securing a victory with a final score of three goals to two.

Morocco initially took the lead in the first half, with Chebbak scoring two goals, including a notable contribution from Sanaa Mssoudy in the 24th minute. Mssoudy executed a precise low shot into the far corner following a cross that traversed the goal mouth.

In an impressive display of tenacity and resilience, the Super Falcons responded in the second half, scoring three goals to regain control of the match.

Esther Okoronkwo opened the scoring for Nigeria by successfully converting a penalty in the 63rd minute. Folashade Ijamiliusi then contributed to Nigeria’s performance by scoring with assistance from Okoronkwo.

In the 87th minute, Jennifer Echegini, coming off the bench, netted the decisive goal, securing the Super Falcons’ position as ten-time champions of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.

The Nigerian team departed Morocco with several accolades, as individual players were recognized for their outstanding performances.

Esther Okoronkwo was named Woman of the Match, Rasheedat Ajibade was honored as the Woman of the Competition, and Chiamaka Nnadozie was designated as the Goalkeeper of the Tournament. Additionally, Justin Magudu, the head coach of the Super Falcons, was recognized as the Best Coach of the Tournament.
