FC Barcelona Femenà will face Olympique Lyonnais Féminin in the final of the 2025/26 Women’s Champions League, following two thrilling semi-final encounters that highlighted the pedigree of both European giants.
Barcelona secured their place with a 5–3 aggregate victory over Bayern München Frauen, sealing the tie with a 4–2 win at the Spotify Camp Nou. The Spanish champions displayed attacking fluency and resilience, responding quickly to Bayern’s equaliser and maintaining control through sustained offensive pressure.
Goals from Salma Paralluelo, Alexia Putellas who netted twice and Ewa Pajor underlined Barcelona’s clinical edge. Despite late efforts from Bayern, Barcelona’s composure ensured a record sixth consecutive final appearance.
In the other semi-final, Lyon overturned a first-leg deficit to defeat Arsenal Women 4–3 on aggregate. A commanding 3–1 victory at the Groupama Stadium saw the French side dominate early proceedings, with Wendie Renard, Kadidiatou Diani, and Jule Brand finding the net.
Arsenal showed improvement in the second half, with Alessia Russo scoring, but Lyon’s experience and game management proved decisive as they advanced to a record 12th final.
The final, scheduled for 23 May 2026 at Ullevaal Stadion in Oslo, will mark the fourth meeting between the two sides in a UWCL final. Lyon, aiming for a ninth title, hold the historical edge, while Barcelona seeking a fourth crown.
