Super Eagles maintain 38th in global ranking in December FIFA rankings

Nigeria’s Super Eagles have retained their position in the latest FIFA Men’s World Rankings released in December 2025, continuing a steady run in global football standings.

‎The West African giants remain 38th in the world, unchanged from the previous ranking, and also kept their November points total of 1,502.

‎On the African continent, Nigeria continues to rank as the fifth-best national team. They remain behind Morocco, Senegal, Egypt, and Algeria, all of whom occupy higher positions both regionally and globally.

‎Morocco leads Africa and is currently ranked 11th in the world, reinforcing their status as the continent’s top-performing side. Senegal follows closely in 19th place, while Algeria and Egypt are ranked 34th and 35th respectively, just ahead of Nigeria.

‎Several other African teams also feature prominently within the continent’s top 10. Tunisia sits 41st globally, with Côte d’Ivoire just behind in 42nd place. Mali follows in 53rd position, while DR Congo and Cameroon are ranked 56th and 57th respectively, rounding out Africa’s top-performing nations in the latest update.

‎On the global stage, Spain continues to dominate the rankings after reclaiming the number one spot from Argentina in September 2025. France occupies third place, maintaining their position among the world’s elite.

‎England, Brazil, Portugal, the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, and Croatia complete the global top 10, with no changes recorded from the previous ranking period.

‎Elsewhere, several nations enjoyed notable improvements in December. Norway climbed to 29th, while Suriname rose to 123rd. Jordan, Vietnam, and Singapore recorded the biggest upward movements during the period, each gaining between two and three places in the standings.
